This question is incomplete because the options are not given; here is the complete question:

Which phrase describes a sill?

A. Fills in valleys and rivers

B. Is a hardened magma intrusion

C. Cuts vertically through older rock layers

D. Is built up by numerous eruptions over thousands of years

The correct answer is B. Is a hardened magma intrusion

Explanation:

Sills are horizontal layers in the soil that form as a result of magma. Also, sills are considered sheet intrusion because the hardened magma gets into older rock layers or soil layers and cuts the rocks horizontally. Moreover, the type of intrusion is studied by geologists to understand the formation and age of soil layers and this differs from other intrusions due to its composition and horizontal formation. According to this, the correct answer is B.

Dairy farming predominantly takes place on a ribbon of land along the Mediterranean.. True or False?
koban [17]

The correct answer is - False.

The Mediterranean region is not a place where the dairy farming is popular at all, and that is mainly due to the climate in the region which is not really suitable for this type of farming.

Most of the dairy farming is located in the central part of the European continent, where there's mountain ranges and higher elevations, where there's no droughts or extremely high temperatures during the summer, and the grass is green for most of the year.

jasenka [17]

Answer: seafloor spreading and subduction magmatism

How is energy from the sun distributed around earth?
amm1812
There are a few different answers to this question, depending on what you are asking. I'll go over the main ones.

1. The Earth's axis is tilted in comparison to the Sun, so days get shorter in the winter months. This is due to less light, and therefore energy, hitting the Earth directly. Instead, that energy either misses entirely, or hits nearer to the Equator. This is why the poles have twenty-four hour days and nights depending on the season. (Night in the winter, day in the summer.)

2. In terms of the food chain, energy from the sun is converted to basic sugars by plants in a process known as photosynthesis, inside the plant's cloroplasts. Small animals such as mice and insects consume the plants, and the energy those plants converted from sunlight. This continues up the food chain until you get to apex-predators (tigers, bears, wolves, owls, etcetera).

3. In terms of electricity, solar panels are made of tons of 'solar cells' which tend to be lots of silicon atoms, which like to share electrons, and a conductive backing. (Pardon me if some of this section is incorrect, I only have a basic understanding of solar panels) When a photon (that is, a light particle) hits the silicon, it bumps off an electron, and the conductive backing catches it, resulting in a electrical current. This current is incredibly small per solar cell, so you need a ton of them to make any sort of useful power out of them. Solar panels do degrade over time, but incredibly slowly, there are some from the 1970's that still generate just as much power as they did originally (if not, only ever so slightly less).

I hope I answered what you needed to know! If you wanted a different answer, feel free to comment with some clarification and I would love to fill you in :)

help asap.A scientist observes a natural flow of water coming out of a hillside. The hillside is lower than the water table. Wha
Oliga [24]

Answer: Spring.

Explanation: The source for the water flow observed is an artesian aquifer. This type of aquifer contains groundwater under positive pressure. In order to reach hydrostatic equilibrium, a spring will form through a crack/weak spot in the bedrock. For this type of geological formation, water will exit at a level lower than that of the water table.
