6. The Temple of Castor and Pollux served as a temple as well as what other purposes?  It served as a meeting place for the senate during the republic and as the front of the podium for the speakers platform in the middle of 2 nd century.

7. What’s all that’s now left of this building? Today only the inner concrete core of the podium and three columns survive of this once massive structure.

The basilica was a fundamental element of a Romanforum. It was used as a public building, much like the Greek stoa. It also served as a meeting place for administration, as a law court, and as a Marketplace.

The Carcer Tullianum is one of the most important and fascinating monuments of the Roman Republic at the time.

It is located below the Church of St. Joseph ‘‘the Carpenter’’ The complex consists of two distinct parts: the Carcer, and Tullianum.

The Carcer was the only state prison of ancient Rome.

18. What was the original name of the Roman Colosseum?  

The Colosseum's original Latin name was Amphitheatrum Flavium, often anglicized as Flavian Amphitheatre.
