2x-1 = 2x+3
2x = 2x+4
0=4
there is no solution

The reason for this is the equations have the same slope and they have different y-intercepts. this means that they are parallel and will never touch.

-4x-2y=30
1/3y=7/3x+5/3
we are supposed to use substitution when solving
seropon [69]

Answer:

The solution set is (-20/9, -95/9)

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve using the substitution method, start by solving the second equation for y.

1/3y = 7/3x + 5/3

y = 7x + 5

Now that we have this, we can plug it in for y in the first equation. Then we can solve for x.

-4x - 2(7x + 5) = 30

-4x - 14x - 10 = 30

-18x - 10 = 30

-18x = 40

x = -20/9

Now that we have the value of x, we can solve for y by inputting the x value into either equation.

-4x - 2y = 30

-4(-20/9) - 2y = 30

80/9 - 2y = 30

80/9 - 2y = 270/9

-2y = 190/9

y = -95/9

(-5/11)h+(7/9)=(2/9) (solve for h) grade lvl. 7
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

h = 11/9 or 1 2/9

Step-by-step explanation:

(-5/11)h+(7/9)=(2/9)

(-5/11)h=(2/9)-(7/9)

(-5/11)h=(-5/9)

h = (-5/9)(-11/5)

h = 11/9

or

h = 1 2/9

Do you think that value of r in the point ( 1, r) is always the unit rate for any situation?
Natasha_Volkova [10]
Yes becuase the x value is always the independent variable while R is dependent of that variable
therefore if 1 is the x and the graph is linear (a straight line) than it would be the unit rate of the situation/graph
