Please select the word from the list that best fits the definition More goods than are needed

History
1 answer:

Answer:

The answer is oversupply, or excess supply, or excess production.

Explanation:

When more goods than are needed are produced or supplied, we have a situation in which supply does not meet demand, because supply is in fact higher than demand.

This creates a problem for suppliers (producers) because they have to charge lower prices in order to get rid of excess production.

A government policy that often causes excess supply is binding price floors. A binding price floor is a minimum price set by the government. This policy does not allow prices to adjust further below the legal limit, causing excess supply. The most common example of a binding price floor is the minimum wage. Minimum wages cause unemployment because they create an excess supply of workers, for a smaller demand of labor.

Why did the communities of greece develop city-states
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Greek city-states likely developed because of the physical geography of the Mediterranean region. The landscape features rocky, mountainous land and many islands. These physical barriers caused population centers to be relatively isolated from each other. The sea was often the easiest way to move from place to place.

Explain how the Second Industrial Revolution affected the North, South, West, and Midwest. Point out changes in the regions’ pol
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

The Second Industrial Revolution affected each region differently

Explanation:

  • North: The industry grew which made this region the leading industrial region of the US. This also created a good environment for the formation of labor unions and the first strikes for better wages. The industrial prosperity made many immigrants settle there to work in industries. At last, the industries also pushed the creation of railroads.
  • South: The Southern States remained mostly agricultural, but the growth of the industries in the Northern States pushed the demand for more cotton, which also helped the growth of the Southern plantations and as a consequence the expansion of slavery. But also many African Americans began to scape to the Northern States to work and become free, but during the Civil War, most of the railroads were destroyed and had to be reconstructed.
  • West: The West was a new region and during this period there was a struggle if this new territory should allow slavery or not. Despite that, the region had a huge space for development which made possible for immigration especially Chinese immigrants went there and worked mostly in the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad.
  • Midwest: In the Midwest there was a different social settlement, there was a development of labor unions but most of them were created by farmers that were active in politics and aimed to make social reforms, this region also had a great number of immigrants to work in low wages work. But with the growth of the industry in the North and the growth of the cotton plantations in the South, the Midwest became a major hub for shipping and transportation of goods which also helped the cities to grow and develop.
