If it takes Joe half a day to paint 1/4th of a bedroom, we can multiply that time by 4 to find how many days it takes to paint one bedroom. 

$\frac{1}{4}*4=1$

$\frac{1}{2}*4=2$

It will take Joe 2 days to paint one whole bedroom.
