The answer is D because the question is basically asking you to solve for the equation at t = 5. We get:
v(5) = 45+4(5) = 65

Since it models speed of the car, and not the time, the answer is D.

we have

v(t)=35+4t

where

v(t) is the speed of the car in mph

t is the time in seconds

the domain of the function is the interval ------> [35,55] (given problem)

so

V(5) -----> that means the speed of the car for the time equal to 5 seconds

Find the speed of the car for t=5\ sec

substitute the value of t in the formula above

v(5)=35+4*5

v(5)=55 mph

therefore

the answer is the option D

55 mph

Jaqleen can unload a grocery truck twice as fast as Marco. Together, they can unload the truck in 5 hours. How long would it tak
amm1812

Jaqleen unloads a truck in x hours and Marco takes 2x hours.

Working together (x*2x) / (x+2x) = 5 hours

2x^2 / 3x = 5 Multiplying both sides by 3x equals 2x^2 -15x = 0

x = 7.5 hours

So Jaqleen takes 7.5 hours and Marco takes 15 hours

Double-Check (7.5 * 15) / (7.5 + 15) = 112.5 / 22.5 equals

5 hours Correct!!

Which is a better buy—100 sheets of binder paper at $2.50, or 150 sheets at $3.50?
VikaD [51]

Answer:

150 sheets is the better buy.

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of each sheet when buying 100 = $2.50 / 100 = $0.0250'

If you buy 150 cost per sheet = $3.50 / 150 = $0.0233.....

So buying 150 sheets is the better buy.
