The Iranian Revolution in 1979 had aimed an overthrowing the Iranian Shah from the Pahlavi dynasty and changing the state system into the theocratic republic. All that influenced the change in relations between Iran and America, in less than a year later, at the end of the same year in 1979, a hostage crisis took place in which fifty two US citizens were held as hostages for 444 days. The crisis was carried out on the side of Iranian students who embarked on the American embassy in Tehran, which led to an even worsening US-Iran relationship. This is otherwise the longest, hostage crisis in history.

What did the Second Great Awakening do?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

Introduction

The Second Great Awakening was a Protestant revival movement during the early nineteenth century. The movement began around 1790 and gained momentum by 1800; after 1820, membership rose rapidly among Baptist and Methodist congregations, whose preachers led the movement. The Second Great Awakening began to decline by 1870. It enrolled millions of new members and led to the formation of new denominations. It has been described as a reaction against skepticism, deism, and rational Christianity, although why those forces became pressing enough at the time to spark revivals is not fully understood.

The Second Great Awakening expressed Arminian theology, by which every person could be saved through revivals, repentance, and conversion. Revivals were mass religious meetings featuring emotional preaching by evangelists such as the eccentric Lorenzo Dow. Many converts believed that the Awakening heralded a new millennial age. The Second Great Awakening stimulated the establishment of many reform movements designed to remedy the evils of society before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Which phrase in the Declaration explains the relationship between government and the people?
olasank [31]

Answer:

The phrase your asking about is <em>"We The People"</em>

Explanation:

This one phrase became a popular rhetoric that established the very definition of Democracy. Although not perfect, the concept of the people controlling their own rights, while having the ability to elect representatives over them has become a significant factor into who the United States is as a nation. The government and the people, although very different when defined, are all in the same in the conceptualization of a democratic government. In short, the people have the ultimate authority in a democracy, not the government positioned electives.
