Answer:

Option (A) is correct.

Explanation:

Total dividends = $45,000 (Paid in 2010 and 2011)

common stock outstanding = 20,000 shares

Preferred dividend:

= No. of shares × Par value × 5%

= 5,000 × $100 × 5%

= $25,000

Dividends received by the common stockholders in 2011:

= Total dividends - Preferred dividend

= ($45,000 × 2) - ($25,000 × 3)

= $90,000 - $75,000

= $15,000

sineoko [7]

The correct answer should be Line of sight.

What then is your Line of sight?

Your line of sight is the noticeable path of travel from your vehicle to your destination area. This line can be obstructed by a curve, a hill, high-forest wooded zones, large truck or other obstruction that prevents drivers from seeing the vehicle ahead. Therefore, if you cannot see around an obstruction, you should slow down and be willing to adjust your position until you can reestablish a clear line of sight to your path of travel and targeting area.

Below are various states of financial distress: 1. defaulting on a principal payment on debt 2. restructuring debt 3. liquidatin
anastassius [24]
1) failing to make a required interest payment on time. I chose this as the least significant because you can always make up a late payment and then its not really a huge deal. It could hurt your credit score but it is not a life or death situation. 2) defaulting on a principal payment on debt. This is a little worse because at this point you cant cant even pay the debt and now your falling a little worse into debt but you can still get out. 3) restructuring debt. This is worse because you already have obtained a lot of debt but you are getting the chance to restructure it to help pay it off you even though your in a bad spot you still have a chance to get out. 4) filing for bankruptcy. At this point you are bankrupt you really don't have a lot of options left and you are kind of at the point of no return unless you can get a hold of a lot of cash really fast. 5) liquidating a firm. At this point you have to sell all of your assets in order to pay of your debt. You will be left with nothing left you may even have to sell you house all your jewelry basically everything that you own that has some value that can be sold.

Which of the following is a fixed cost?
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

The answer is d. payment to hire a security worker to guard the gate to the factory around the clock.

Explanation:

Let re-visit to the concept of Fixed cost before applying to the questions.

Fixed costs are costs which are unchanged given changes in production level.

a. payment to a electric utility is not fixed cost because higher level of production required higher electricity consumption which leads to higher cost of electricity.

b. cost of raw material is not fixed cost because the higher the production level, the higher the raw material required for production.

c. wages to hire assembly line workers is not fixed cost because the higher the production level, the more workers required and the higher the wages will be.

d. payment to hire a security worker to guard the gate to the factory around the clock is fixed cost because regardless of the production level, the security worker will work for the same amount of time and receive the same level of payment as his workload is much likely to remain the same.

So, d is the correct choice.
