Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

Geometric sequences have a pattern that is exponential. Because of this, they do not have a constant rate of change using addition or subtraction. Instead, they have a constant rate through multiplication and division called a common ratio. Tank 1 is geometric because as you subtract each y value you get a different value each time. It is not a common difference. But if you divide, you find a common ratio.

Example: 249-300= -60                              240/300 = 0.8

                192-240 = -48                              192/240 = 0.8

                 etc.                                               Common ratio of 0.8

Arithmetic sequences have a pattern that is linear. Because of this, they do have a constant rate of change using addition or subtraction. This means that the same value is added or subtracted each time to get the next value. It is known as a common difference. Tank 2 is arithmetic because you subtract 40 each time to get the next volume.

Example: 260 - 300 = -40

               220 - 260 = -40

Common difference is -40.

This means that only A is correct.

D is not correct because geometric sequences do not have common differences.
