"A turtle takes 3.5 minutes to walk 18 m toward the south along a deserted highway. A truck driver stops and picks up the turtle

. The driver takes the turtle to a town 1.1 km to the north with an average speed of 12 m/s. What is the magnitude of the average velocity of the turtle for its entire journey

Explanation:

The given data is as follows.

        Velocity of truck = 12 m/s

The turtle has moved in 18 m towards south direction. After that, the truck picks up the turtle towards 1100 m north.

Hence, total displacement will be as follows.

            1100 m - 18 m = 1082 m in the north direction

Time taken by the turtle is 3.5 minutes. Converting time into seconds as follows.

                  3.5 \times 60 sec

                   = 210 sec

And, the time taken by the truck is as follows.

             \frac{1100}{12}

              = 91.67 sec

Therefore, the total time will be calculated as follows.

                  210 sec + 91.67 sec

                 = 301.67 sec

Now, we will calculate the average velocity as follows.

       Average velocity = \frac{\text{total displacement}}{\text{total time taken}}

                                  = \frac{1082}{301.67} m/s

                                  = 3.586 m/s

Thus, we can conclude that average velocity of the turtle for its entire journey is 3.586 m/s.

A device that transforms electrical energy to mechanical energy is a
yarga [219]

Answer:

Electric Motor

Explanation:

There are mainly two types of machines for inter-conversion between mechanical energy and electrical energy as under:

  1. Motor
  2. Generator

Motor is a device which converts electrical energy into a mechanical whereas generator does the exact opposite of motor.

There are 2 types of motors:

AC Motor - Converts alternating current into mechanical energy

DC Motor - Converts direct current into mechanical energy

A ray diagram without the produced image is shown.
4vir4ik [10]

A car acting as an object in front of a biconvex lens between F and 2 F on the object side of the lens. There is a light ray parallel to the principal axis that is bent through F on the image side of the lens. There is a ray straight through the center of the lens. The rays intersect below the x axis further than 2 F away from the lens and farther from the principal axis than the object is tall.

<u> The image produced by the lens is (b) inverted and real</u>

Explanation:

A real image occurs where the rays converge.

Real images can be produced both by the  concave mirrors or  converging lenses, but the condition is that the object of consideration is always  placed far  away from the mirror or the lens than the focal point, and thus the  real image produced is inverted.

What is the sound intensity level in decibels? Use the usual reference level of I0 = 1.0×10−12 W/m2.
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

L = 130 decibels

Explanation:

The computation of the sound intensity level in decibels is shown below:

According to the question, data provided is as follows

I = sound intensity = 10 W/m^2

I0 = reference level = 1 \times 10-12 W/m^2

Now

Intensity level ( or Loudness)is

L = log10 \frac{I}{10}

L = log10 \frac{10}{1\times 10^{-12}}

L = log10 \times 1013

= 13 \times 1 ( log10(10) = 1)

Therefore

L = 13 bel

And as we know that

1 bel = 10 decibels

So,

The  Sound intensity level is

L = 130 decibels
