How's my essay on Hammurabi's code was just.

First of all ... it's well written, using good mechanics. The grammar,
spelling, and sentence structure are all good.  That's half the battle.

Content-wise, I was fascinated during most of this essay.  I had always read
how so much of Biblical law and modern law are based on Hammurabi, and
how revolutionary he was in his time.  But I've never seen any actual quotes
or selections from his "Code", until just this minute in your essay.

Also content-wise, I think I would have started to take exception with old
Hammo, about the time you get down to #195 .  I think I would have written
that even though he certainly was just and benevolent for his time, that
doesn't mean that he did not occasionally fly clear off the rails.
For example, MOST of today's civilized world recognizes that it is NOT
justice to cut off the hands of a thief, or even of one who strikes his father.
Hammurabi was definitely headed in the right direction, and was a true
visionary in his time, but he still definitely needed some polish around
some of the rough edges.

By the way ... Now that you're more familiar with this Code than most folks
are, you might find it fascinating to have a look in Exodus, starting at the
beginning of Chapter 21 and going to the first few verses of Chapter 23.

And in conclusion ... I still want to know whether you're the long person or
the short one in your photo.

Nadya [2.5K]

Hello. This question is incomplete. The full question is:

Read the introduction.

The United States Department of Agriculture has historically published recommendations for healthy eating based on a food pyramid. This concept has been reimagined with the introduction of their new website www.choosemyplate.gov. This interactive website allows individuals to explore healthy menus tailored to their particular needs. The website also provides information about physical activity, caloric intake, and food groups.

What is the author's purpose? To inform readers about a government website to inform readers about the major food groups to persuade readers to change their diets to persuade readers to improve exercise habits

Answer:

to inform readers about a government website

Explanation:

The text shown in the question above is literally presenting a website developed and provided by the government to provide information that will be relevant, beneficial and progressive for the population. Thus, we can say that the purpose of the author of the text was to promote the dissemination of this website, making the population aware of it and can use it in the best possible way.

ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer: No the question "Which credit cards do my friends use?" would not be answered by the selection "Credit Cards-Credit Where Credit's Due" because the selection is talking about the credit and where it is due not about the type of credit card your friend has or uses.

Explanation: I think the answer would be no because it is about Credit Cards-Credit not about them advertising their credit cards in themselves. It would have been different if the selection was something around the lines of "Which Credit Card Is Used Most" or "Credit Cards People Use But Which Is Best?"
