Spain, Portugal, France, Dutch, and Britain are 5 European countries that built a large maritime empire between 1450-1750.

Further Explanations:

Most of the European countries in the 15th century were in search of new lands for their colonization. Out of others, five dominant nations were France, Britain, Spain, Portugal, and Dutch. These nations were able to construct their maritime empire during the era of 1450- 1750.During the 1440s Portugal and Spain were fighting for the new land which was later resolved by the Treaty of Tordesillas. Later Great Britain, France, and Nederland led their expedition for acquiring new colonies.

These nations started migrating and settling on the territories overseas. Spain invaded and annexed islands on the coast of Africa in the direction Castile. Domestic Canary was captured by the Islanders so as to enslave the citizens. Spanish became the first one to practice slavery. They enslaved the citizens of Africa and thus raised the death of Indigenous people.
