Answer:

$46,571

Explanation:

The cost price is $500,000

The residual value  is $ 11,000

Useful life is 7years

The depreciable amount will be cost price -residual value

=$500,000 - $11,000

=$489,000

Depreciation expense per year on the straight-line method will be

=$489,000/7

=$69,857. 14

After three years, the total depreciable amount will be 69,857.14 x 3

=$209,571.42

New book value after three years will be 489,000 - 209,571.42

=$279,428.58.

Useful has been adjusted to nine years.  Three years have passed. Four years remain plus two added years meaning six years to go.

Depreciation from the 4th year will be

=279,428.58/6

=$46,571

serg [7]

Answer:

b.

Explanation:

The company sold 6 advertising spaces that would run from July to December for $400 each.

Total amount received for selling 6 advertising spaces = 6×$400

Total amount received for selling 6 advertising spaces = $2,400

The advertising spaces will run for 6 months i.e., July to December.

So, adjusting entry on 31st July would record the revenue earned for 1 month only.

Total revenue = $2,400

No. of months = 6

Revenue for 1 month = $2,400/6

Revenue for 1 month = $600

Thus, journal entry on receipt of cash as well as adjusting journal entry has been shown below:

According to the assumptions of CVP, ______ will not change as the volume of a product increases or decreases. total variable co
fgiga [73]

Answer:

Fixed costs, sales price, and variable cost per unit

Explanation:

Cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis is a cost accounting technique that examines how operating profit is affected by varying levels of costs and volume. Another name for CVP is break-even analysis because for different sales volumes and cost structures, it provides the break-even point (BEP) for different sales volumes and cost structures. BEP can assist managers during the short-term economic decision making.

Some of the assumptions of CVP are that fixed costs, sales price, and variable cost per unit will not change even when the volume of a product changes. The change in the volume of a product can either be an increase or a decrease.

Therefore, according to the assumptions of CVP, fixed costs, sales price, and variable cost per unit will not change as the volume of a product increases or decreases.

I wish you the best.

Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

Manufacturing overhead= $39,500

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Direct labor= $15,000

Direct labor cost was 40% of prime cost.

Total manufacturing costs= $77,000

<u>First, we need to calculate the prime cost:</u>

<u></u>

Prime cost= direct material + direct labor

Prime cost= 15,000/0.4= 37,500

<u>Now, we can determine the manufacturing overhead:</u>

Manufacturing overhead= total manufacturing costs - prime costs

Manufacturing overhead= 77,000 - 37,500

Manufacturing overhead= $39,500

Russell Container Corporation has a $1,000 par value bond outstanding with 30 years to maturity. The bond carries an annual inte
12345 [234]

Answer:

Yield on new issue = 11.99%

After tax cost of debt = 8.99%

Explanation:

Given the following :

Future value (FV) = 1000

Period (n) = 30 years

Payment per period (PMT) = $105

Present value (PV) = $880

Tax rate = 25% = 0.25

a. Compute the yield to maturity on the old issue and use this as the yield for the new issue.

Coupon rate = (PMT ÷ par value)

Coupon rate = 105÷ 1000

Coupon rate = 10.50%

Using the financial calculator, bond yield ;

(FV, rate, period, No of payment per year, PV)

Yield on new issue = 11.99%

RATE(n,PMT, PV, FV, 0)

B.) after tax cost of debt, that is, after making necessary tax adjustments

Tax rate = 0.25

After tax cost of debt = yield × (1 - tax rate)

After tax cost = 0.1199 × (1 - 0.25)

After tax cost of debt = 0.1199 × 0.75

After tax cost of debt = 0.089925

After tax cost of debt = 8.99%

On a shopping trip, Melanie decided to buy a light blue coat made from woven fabric. A tag on the coat stated that the price wa
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B.

Explanation:

Melanie decided to buy a coat at a price of $79.95.

When she brought the coat to the store's sales clerk, Melanie was told that the coat was on sale, and she would pay 20 percent less than the price on the tag.

She got a discount worth $15.99.

The consumer surplus, in this case, will be at least $15.99.

This is because the consumer surplus is the difference between the price the consumer is willing to pay for a good and the price he/she actually pays.

Melanie paid $15.99 less than the price but she may have been willing to pay more than the initial price. So the consumer surplus will be at least $15.99.
