WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THE SIZE OF THE CARNIVORE POPULATION IF THE HERBIVORE POPULATION INCREASED

Biology

Answer: Herbivores are the primary consumers in the food chain as they feed on the producers like plants. Carnivores feed on herbivores and so they are the secondary consumers or predators of herbivores.

If the herbivore population is increased, initially there will be more availability of food for the carnivores. Due to this, the size of carnivore population increases. As a result, gradually the herbivores now start depleting and they reach to a point that they are not sufficient to feed all the predators. This eventually causes the death of predators so that again the population of herbivore can reach the equilibrium.

The carnivore population would also increase because there would be a larger food-source for carnivorous so more of them would be able to survive

Candace is wanting to be sure that she is doing what she can to prevent the spread of disease. Which of the following should she
Temka [501]

Answer:

Take medicine to destroy the germs.

Avoid contact with other people's bodily fluids.

Eat healthful foods such as fruits and vegetables.

Explanation:

For the spread of disease, there is usually a host who bears the infectious agent, the agent exits through a port of exit from the host, is carried by a mode of transmission, then enters a susceptible second host through a port of entry. To stop transmission, stopping the infectious agent can include;

  1. Stopping the agent from leaving the host through port of exit – e.g quarantine the patient
  2. Curtailing the modes of transmission – e.g killing disease vectors
  3. Protecting the ports of entry in the susceptible second potential host – e.g by improving immunity
