(f-g)(x) is a shorthand way of saying that you need to get the difference of the two functions: f(x) and g(x). so essentially, (f-g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = 5x+2 - (-3x+4) = 8x-2 (f/g)(-2) = f(-2)/g(-2) = -4/5 or -0.8 Hope this helps.

A substance with a half life is decaying exponentially. If there are initially 12 grams of the substance and after 70 minutes th
77julia77 [94]

Answer: 233 min

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem can be solved by the following equation:

A=A_{o} e^{-kt}  (1)

Where:

A=7 g is the quantity left after time t

A_{o}=12 g is the initial quantity

t=70 min is the time elapsed

k is the constant of decay for the material

So, firstly we need to find the value of k from (1) in order to move to the next part of the problem:

\frac{A}{A_{o}}=e^{-kt}  (2)

Applying natural logarithm on both sides of the equation:

ln(\frac{A}{A_{o}})=ln(e^{-kt})  (3)

ln(\frac{A}{A_{o}})=-kt  (4)

k=-\frac{ln(\frac{A}{A_{o}})}{t}  (5)

k=-\frac{ln(\frac{7 g}{12 g})}{70 min}  (6)

k=0.00769995 min^{-1}  (7)  Now that we have the value of k we can solve the other part of this problem: Find the time t for A=2 g.

In this case we need to isolate t from (1):

t=-\frac{ln(\frac{A}{A_{o}})}{k}  (8)

t=-\frac{ln(\frac{2 g}{12 g})}{0.00769995 min^{-1}}  (9)

Finally:

t=232.697 min \approx 233 min

1: theoretical probability for flipping a coin is  thats because there are only 2 options and only one will happen theoretically you should get 50 out of 100 should be heads.  but getting 41 out of 100 is a bit low

theoretically  50/100

in actuality  41/100

2. Part A: I believe the chance of hitting the black dot is closer to zero due to the amount of white background there is. There is a lot more white then black.

Part B: The probability of hitting the white is closer to 1 due to the greater amount of white on the target than the amount of black. There is a lot more white than black.

Find the area of this compound figure
AysviL [449]

Trapezoid, height 7, bases 5 and 6, so

area = (1/2) (6 + 5)(7) = 77/2 = 38.5

Answer: 38.5

As a check it's a 7×5 rectangle plus a 7×1 right triangle, so

A = 7×5 + 7×1/2 = 35 + 3.5 = 38.5, good

2.which is the correct classification of the vaule 2pi?

D. real,irrational

→ It is irrational because it has no denominator, it is real because it has no imaginary part, and it can be plotted on a number line.

3. simplify each expression
