On Mars, where air resistance is negligible, an astronaut drops a rock from a cliff and notes that the rock falls about d meters

during the first t seconds of its fall. Assuming the rock does not hit the ground first, how far will it fall during the first 4t seconds of its fall?

I think this question is missing information about the grav accn on mars

Then it would be

What method of separation would work best on a homogeneous mixture salt water?
Lera25 [3.4K]
The appropriate answer is c. evaporation. Evaporation is the process by which a liquid changes to a gas and in this case is the best way to remove the water from the homogenous mixture. The reaction can be sped up by heating the mixture. All the water will eventually evaporate leaving behind the sodium chloride crystals as a precipitate.
Filtration works best on mixtures that have precipitates and distillation is for separating liquids with different boiling points.

A wave with an amplitude of 9.3 mm is traveling along a string whose linear mass density is 230 g/m and whose tension is 65 N. I
dsp73

Answer:

The rate of transfer of energy is equal to 23.76W or 23.76J/s as may be required both forms are correct. The physical quantities needed to calculate the rate of energy transfer are the linear mass density or mass per unit length, tension force, amplitude, angular frequency( which is equal to 2pi •f )

Explanation:

The required quantity is the average power or average rate of energy transfer which differs from the maximum or instantaneous rate of energy transfer. The calculation steps to the answer above can be found in the attachment below. Should the requested quantity be the instantaneous quantity the answer will be 2 x Pav which equals 47.52W or 47.52J/s.

A skateboarder is moving 5.25 m/s when he starts to roll up a frictionless hill. How much higher is he when his velocity has red
Taya2010 [7]
Mechanical energy E = mgh + 1/2mv²

When he starts, let h = 0 ⇒ E₁ = 1/2mv₁²
When he reaches height h ⇒ E₂ = mgh + 1/2mv₂²

Without friction, energy is conserved at all times.

E₁ = E₂
     ↓
1/2mv₁² = mgh + 1/2mv₂²
     ↓
1/2v₁² = gh + 1/2v₂²
     ↓
gh = 1/2(v₁² - v₂²)
    ↓
h = (v₁² - v₂²) / (2g)
