Answer:

The correct statement concerning the cell membrane lipid molecules is that "energy is not expended during diffusion" (Option d)

Explanation:

Biological membranes are formed by two lipidic layers arranged with their hydrophilic polar heads facing the exterior and the interior of the cells, and their hydrophobic tails against each other. Membranes are fluid, which means that molecules that form it have the capability to move through it.

Lipids can easily change places with other neighbor lipids by lateral diffusion in the same layer. This is passive diffusion, which means that it does not need energy to happen.

Lipids can also diffuse transversally to the other layer, but this kind of movement is not as easy as lateral diffusion.

There are also other lipidic movements as rotational diffusion that imply the rotation of the molecule.

Through this lipidic bilayer, there is also a passive transport of some particles from one side of the cell to the other which happens because of concentration differences.

A unique feature of muscle tissue is that it is capable of
kogti [31]

Answer:

Contraction.

Explanation:

Muscle tissues are defined as they are elastic and extensible in nature. In other words it's also defined as they are able to stretched and returned to its original size and shapes. A unique feature of muscle tissue is they are able of contractile in nature. With the help of this contraction they are able to sliding myosin and actin filaments which are present in muscles tissues.

Basically muscle tissues are three types:

1) Skeletal muscle: They are strong and rapid in contraction.

2) Cardiac muscle: They are strong in contraction.

3) Smooth muscle tissues: They are slow and weak in contraction.

Which of the following processes generates a proton-motive force in mitochondria?
Sauron [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is option d.

Explanation:

At the time of the electron transport chain, the transferring of electrons takes place from the level of higher energy to the level of lower energy at each of the steps that result in the discharging of energy. This energy discharged is utilized to pump the proton found in the matrix into the intermembrane space across the inner mitochondrial membrane.

This process of proton pumping from the mitochondrial matrix to the intermembrane space results in a proton gradient, which is, utilized in the generation of ATP.
