andable it is a One Idea Two Mediums Essay.
""""""I will be comparing and contrasting the image of “The Fall of Reynolds” to the story of “The Horseman in the Sky”. Using these two mediums we will come up with the one idea they both hold in common. I will be explaining on behalf of how many similarities can be found in these two mediums.
The primary similarity that caught my attention was how they both show how death can arrive violently. Carter contemplates shooting the man but finds himself implicitly defied. In the long run, he shoots the horse causing the man and his horse disappear off the ledge. When he shoots the horse, he does not expect to hit the man because that was not his target. He shoots the horse but both die. These actions of Carter gave both mediums the solo idea in which took the title of “The Horseman in the Sky” and in the image the ultimate “Fall of Reynolds”.
The second similarity I noticed was that not only the image depicts the knock of death in each medium but they both depict how tragically a life was lost so suddenly. In ‘The Fall of Reynolds’ the image demonstrates the void the man had in his eyes since he did not know he was about to take his last breath as he was in the sky falling into nothing but air. In the story “The Horseman in the Sky” the soldier did not expect to take the life of the man on the horse, only the animal because his heart did not allow it.
The third comparison I will make is how ironic the authors made up the sequence of events. In “The Horseman in the Sky” Carter aims to the horse instead of the man and shoots which leads the Confederate soldier to death, falling off the cliff along with the horse. Later, Carter then goes to examine the soldier and see’s that the man was his father. In ‘The Fall of Reynolds’ it displays exactly this, how the soldier was killed while the shooter had no intent of doing so. The irony in the both mediums is implausible it shocks the reader in a way which they did not see that approaching.
In conclusion, the both stories have many similarities that the eyes cannot capture in the Fall of Reynolds toward The Horseman in the Sky, but once you read the story, your mind will put two and two together and you will see what the authors wanted you see with your cognizance."""""

1. The letter below was written by Samuel Johnson in response to a woman who had asked him to obtain the archbishop of Canterbur
ddd [48]

The letter from Samuel Johnson shown above was made as a refusal to request a woman who would like to receive sponsorship from a bishop to send her son to university.

In the Letter, Johnson explains the reasons that led him to reject this request, stating that they cannot ask the bishop he does not know, sponsorship for a boy the bishop does not know. This is because this type of sponsorship was something very big, with great economic expense. Therefore, this was not offered to strangers, but only to people with whom the sponsors had knowledge and a certain intimacy.

In this letter, Johnson makes recurring use of ethos and logos. He uses ehos, when he shows that he is rejecting the request in the most ethical and respectable way possible, and, he uses logos, when he shows that the refusal is not being made for personal reasons, but for the logic of the situation.

Finally, Johnson says that he believes that the woman's son is a brilliant boy and that it is not necessary for him to go to university to be a great man.
