Answer: Penicillin kills bacteria.

Drugs in the penicillin class work by indirectly bursting bacterial cell walls. They do this by acting directly on peptidoglycans, which play an essential structural role in bacterial cells.

Penicillin is effective against many bacterial infections.

Penicillin is still widely used today, though many types of bacteria have developed resistance because Penicillin is/was drastically overused.
