Conduction is when heat is transfered between two objects directly in contact with one another (like a pot on a stove).
Convection is when heat is transfered by movement of the heated substance such as by currents in a fluid.
Hope this helps!

Conduction and convection are means of transferring heat, the important difference is the medium through which the heat travels. Conduction occurs when heat is transferred through solid objects, like a bar.

How does the thyroid gland help maintain and regulate calcium?
Art [367]

Answer:

When the calcium level is high in the bloodstream, the thyroid gland releases calcitonin. Calcitonin slows down the activity of the osteoclasts found in bone. This decreases blood calcium levels. When calcium levels decrease, this stimulates the parathyroid gland to release parathyroid hormone.

Yams are produced through slips, which have been generated again from sprouts of mature yams, rather than seeds, as most other crops are. Split a yam in part and place one half in a bowl of cool water to develop sprouts.
