The diploid number of chromosomes in humans (homo sapiens) is 46 and the diploid number of chromosomes in rice (oryza sativa) is
Mrac [35]

For humans, the diploid chromosome number equation is 2n = 46 because humans have two sets of 23 chromosomes The diploid chromosome number varies by organism and ranges from 10 to 50 chromosomes per cell.

What is Mitosis?

Mitosis is a type of cell division that occurs in somatic or body cells. In mitosis, and a cell undergoes division to produce two daughter cells each with the same number of chromosome as the parent cells.

Mitosis produces diploid cells and diploid cells are cells that have the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

Thus, The diploid chromosome number varies by organism and ranges from 10 to 50 chromosomes per cell.

Which of the following
Pachacha [2.7K]

Phosphate groups of the nucleotides in the diagram are marked with W.

Option C.

Explanation:

DNA is a macro molecule which is formed of polymerization of deoxyribonucleotides. Four types of deoxyribonucleotides are present which are adenosine, guanosine, thymidine and cytosine triphosphate. These nucleotides are polymerized based on the genetic setup.

The phosphate groups attached with the sugar molecule are actually polymerized with the o glycosidic bond. That's marked with the letter W. These phosphate molecules are attached with the sugar molecules which actually are attached with the nitrogen bases. They in total forms a nucleotide, hence the whole DNA. X in the diagram are nitrogen bases and the Y are the hydrogen bonds between the complementary nitrogen bases

A bacterium will construct different proteins to metabolize the sugars lactose or glucose, depending on which one it detects in
andrew11 [14]
Just like other cells, the part of the bacterium that is able to interact with its outside environment is its cell membrane. Generally, the main function of the cell membrane is for barrier and protection. This decides which molecules will be allowed to permeate or not. Hope this helps.
