MARKING BRAINLIEST WHEN I CAN! 30 POINTS!!

Here are my suggestions on what you should edit:

Should cigarettes be illegal? Smoking can cause lung cancer, strokes, and many other diseases. Diseases caused from smoking are one of the most preventable in the US. In the States, more than 480,000 deaths occur a year due to smoking related illnesses. Smoking should be made illegal to protect our health.

I changed it up because you need more variety in your diction (wording), and also the phrasing could be slightly improved. When you wrote "In the US, more than 480,000 deaths occur a year due to cigarettes" the phrasing didn't make much sense. You don't die from a cigarette. You die from diseases that are caused from regular smoking.

Hope this helped!

blagie [28]

Answer:

Do you work in an office and often experience neck or shoulder pain? You’e not alone. According to statistics, office and computer workers are among the most at risk groups for developing these chronic conditions, leading to financial loss and even disability. Neck pain ranks 4th in the leading causes of disability worldwide.

With that said, here are the 7 most common reasons you’re suffering from neck or shoulder pain at work, and how to fix them.

1. Looking Down Constantly at the Laptop Screen

Poor laptop posture

What most people do when using a laptop is to simply place it on their desk (or God forbid on their laps). This might be okay for a short while, but any time longer, and your neck and shoulders will start to feel it.

According to studies, even a 15° tilt of the neck to look down at the laptop screen doubles the amount of force exerted on our necks to hold up the head. If you place your laptop on your lap, that force can be 3 times as great compared to a straight neck.

Dr. Kenneth Hansraj, in his research found that, even though the human head only weighs 10 to 12 lbs on average, the weight drastically increases as the head tilts forward. At a 15° angle, the weight jumps to 27 lbs, 40 lbs at 30°, 49 lbs at 45°, and 60 lbs at 60°.

Hence, though the motion of looking down might seem harmless, doing it for long periods of time can lead to neck pain, upper back muscle spasms, and even damage the vertebrae.

Solution: Use a laptop stand to elevate the laptop screen to eye level.

The solution is simple,- use a laptop stand or even any old cardboard

Where does the tone shift in the poem?
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

The tone of the poem changes in the last two lines.

Explanation:

The given excerpt is taken from Sonnet 17, written by William Shakespeare. The sonnet is the last of the 'Procreation sonnet.' Through the medium of sonnets, the Sonneteer is trying to persuade the Fair Youth to marry him and procreate a child with him.

The Sonneteer is concerned that the poems that he has written describing the beauty of the Fair Youth, will be considered false by readers. Therefore, he persuades the Fair Youth to birth his child, who will testify on his behalf in the future.

This shift in the tone is seen in the last two lines of the sonnet.

1. How does the idea of Tan’s reconciliation with her mother’s informal English develop over the course of chunk 1?
Anvisha [2.4K]

From the short story "Mother Tongue"written by Amy Tan: Growing up, Amy struggled with the feeling of being in two language zones; on the one hand she used the simple English with her mother, who spoke English in an unclear way , according to others, and on the other hand she used the English she learned at school which was more sophisticated. There were times when she felt embarrassed by her mother's use of English, especially when her friends could not understand what she was saying. But her mother knew English very well because she could read sophisticated books in English. It was only her delivery of the language that was lacking. Later in life, Amy came to accept the positive aspects that she learned from growing up in an immigrant family, from her mother, and be grateful for the teachings of her two worlds.

Why Hamlet thinks that Ophelia should go to a nunnery? (HAMLET)
son4ous [18]

Hamlet feels that is where a woman has a best chance at being faithful, and where she will cause the least amount of damage. After all, as he tells Ophelia also, "why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners?"; in a nunnery, she won't have children and bear wicked men-like his uncle-that do awful things.
