The correct answer is A) Most settlers searched for gold rather than planting crops.

The Jamestown settlement nearly failed because most settlers searched for gold rather than planting crops.

Sometimes people deviate their focus to other things that are not the priority. That is what happened in the first colony of England in the Americas: Jamestown. The colony at Jamestown nearly failed because of these two actions of the colonists: hunted for silver and gold and they also searched for the fabled Northwest Passage.

The Jamestown Colony was founded in 1607 and was the first English colony in North America. These European people arrived on May 14, 1607, and established close to the James River. These people came to America because they aspire to be rich or richer and were looking for raw materials such as gold. But permanent conflicts with the Native American Indians of the region, hunger, diseases, hunted for silver and gold, and the search for the fabled Northwest Passage, almost made the colony fail and disappear.

Answer:

<em>Option C. Natural price.</em>

Explanation:

Adam Smith was a Scottish economist, philosopher and author popularly known as the "father of capitalism". One of the economical terms that he defined is the one of <u><em>"natural price",</em></u> that is the price of any commodity that is neither more or less than the cost of production for that same commodity. The natural price has to be the sum of the costs of rent of the land, the wages of the labor and the profits of the stock that brought the commodity into the market, that took place in order for the commodity to be produced.
