I would say that President Thomas Jefferson would have desired the revolution to fail. On the one had, Saint Domingue independence from France was good news, for it debilitated the French. But on the other hand, the triumph of a slave revolution in the West Indies would set a dangerous precedent and could influence further slave revolts in the USA.

Jefferson - who was a slave owner himself - refused to recognize the negro government, rejecting diplomatic relations and even imposed an economic embargo on Saint Domingue in order to make the negro nation fail. Also, he had to face southern slave-holders reaction against the Saint Domingue in fear of similar outbreaks. Previous incidents like the Gabriel slave conspiracy in 1802 fueled this fear.

What did the reverend charles
jok3333 [9.3K]

Reverend Charles Colcock Jones was a slave owner who struggled with the morality of having slaves. Even when he thought that slavery was necessary for the economy and, therefore, defended that institution, he also believed that slaves deserved a more kindheartedly approach and the right to have a religious education, so he evangelized slaves and instructed other owners and ministers to the same.

How did the Aztec government structure solidify the power of the empire
anzhelika [568]
The Aztec government was similar to monarchy where an emperor or king was the primary ruler. Back then they didn't have presidents or democrats and republicans. The Aztec empire was made up of a series of city-states known as altepetl.
The Aztecs call their ruler the Huey Tlatoani. The Huey Tlatoani was the ultimate power in land.
The Aztecs also believed in their gods, they were strongly about their religion.

Hope this helped :)

How do the economic effects of globalization on developing countries compare to those of developed countries?
skad [1K]

Globalization is a process that aspires to enlarge bussiness operations around the world, making use of technological advancements, as well as political and socioeconomic development.

On developed countries, it was proven beneficial as it led to economic growth. But on developing ones, it was harmful to their economy as the costs of it, outweighted the benefits. Although free trade* boosts opportunities for international trade, it also rises the risk of failure for smaller companies that cannot compete internationally.

*Free Trade: policy that erases discrimination against imports and exports.
