Jason's two test scores in English are 87 and 91. What must he score on the third test to get an average test score of 92 or bet
irga5000 [103]

You first find the average of the first two test scores. When you find the average, you add the two numbers together and then divide by two which gives you 89. You then plug in different scores above the number 89 and find the average of those (89 and x) to see which gives you an average of 92. It’s mostly a guess and check type of problem.

There are 52 playing cards in a standard deck of cards. If Patrica selects a card at random, what is the probability that it wil
Alisiya [41]
Since there are two black queens out of 52 cards, there is a 2/52 chance of drawing a black queen first. This is equivalent to a 1/26 chance.

Now that we have removed a black queen, there are 51 cards left in the deck. 26 of them are red because we only took away a black card. This means that there is a 26/51 of drawing a red card next.

In order to find the probability of both of these happening, we multiply the two together. 1/26 * 26/51 = 26/1326. This reduces to 1/51. So, there is a 1/51 chance of drawing a black queen, then a red card.

Please help me to solve this sum
please gI've correct answer
disa [49]

This question requires creating a few equations and working through them step-by-step. Now, first let's give each of the shapes a variable: let's say that the blue shape is a, the orange shape is b and the green shape is c.

1. We can technically create six formulas for the magic square, with three for sum of the rows and three for the sum of the columns, however the smartest way to approach this is to observe whether there are any obvious answers that we can get.

We can see in row 2 that there are three of the same shape (a) that add to 57. This makes it very simple to calculate the value of the shape.

Since 3a = 57

a = 57/3 = 19

2. Now we need to find a row or column that includes a and one other shape; we could choose either column 2 or 3, so let's go with column 2. Remembering that the blue shape is a and the orange shape is b:

2a + b = 50

Now, given that a = 19:

2(19) + b = 50

38 + b = 50

b = 12

3. We can now take any of the rows or columns that include the third shape (c) since we already know the values of the other two shapes. Let's take column 1:

a + b + c = 38

19 + 12 + c = 38

31 + c = 38

c = 38 - 31

c = 7

Thus, the value of the blue shape is 19, the value of the orange shape is 12 and the value of the green shape is 7.

Every weekday, Tasha walks 3/8 mile to go to school. After school, she walks 2/8 mile to go to her grandparents' house. Then she
fenix001 [56]

There are two possibilities, and we don't know which situation is true.

#1). School is in the middle, between home and grandparents.

Home --------- 3/8 ----------- School --------- 2/8 ------- Grandparents .

If this is true, then in the whole day, Tasha walks

(3/8 + 2/8 + 2/8 + 3/8) = 10/8 = 1.25 miles .

#2): Grandparents house is in the middle, between home and school.
Tasha passes by them on her way to school, and stops there to visit
on her way back home.

Home ------- 1/8 ------- Grandparents ---------- 2/8 ---------- School

If this is true, then in the whole day, Tasha walks

 (3/8 + 2/8 + 1/8) = 6/8 = 3/4 mile .
