Well what we would is subtract! I am going to tell you the answer first it is 2 1/2! First you find an improper fraction for 3 1/4 which is 13/4 then you subtract! 13/4 - 3/4= 10/6! You turn 10/6 into mixed number which is 2 1/2!

Which pair shows equivalent expressions?
Alona [7]

Answer:

Option 3

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find a pair which shows equivalent expressions.

First equation is

2x+10=-2(x-5)

LHS=2x+10

RHS=-2(x-5)=-2(x)-2(-5)=-2x+10

LHS\neq RHS

Option 1 is incorrect.

Second equation is

-2(x+5)=2x-10

LHS=-2(x+5)=-2(x)-2(5)=-2x-10

RHS=2x-10

LHS\neq RHS

Option 2 is incorrect.

Third equation is

-2x-10=-2(x+5)

LHS=-2x-10

RHS=-2(x+5)=-2(x)-2(5)=-2x-10

LHS=RHS

Option 3 is correct.

Fourth equation is

-2(x–5)=-2X-10

LHS=-2(x–5)=-2(x)-2(-5)=-2x+10

RHS=-2x-10

LHS\neq RHS

Option 4 is incorrect.

Therefore, the correct option is 3.
