Well, the angle looks like it is an obtuse angle, right? And we know that obtuse angles are greater than 90 degrees, so wouldn't the answer be A. 115 degree?
I think the answer is 115 degrees. Hope this helps!

Using the concept of inner angle capacities, the maximum angle measurement that can exist inside this triangle would be 180 degrees. This means that the missing angle within the triangle would be 180 - (40 + 75), or 65 degrees.

Now, knowing that the angle we are looking for is a supplementary angle to the one we just calculated, we can find it’s angle measurement by subtracting the one we know from 180 degrees, since it’s a straight line. This means that the angle measurement of this outside angle would be equal to 180 - 65, or 115 degrees.

1. Segment AE is 7 inches and AH is 7^/3 inches. What is the length of EH? Round to the nearest tenth.
Orlov [11]

Answer:

1.) 9.9

2.) 15.6

Step-by-step explanation:

1.) Consider triangle AEH

AEH is a right angle triangle as ∠AEH = 90°

AH is the hypotenuse of the triangle.

Applying Pythagorean theorem

AE^{2} + EH^{2} = AH^{2}

substituting values as given in the question:

7^{2} +EH^{2}=(7\sqrt{3} )^{2}\\EH^{2}=(7\sqrt{3} )^{2}-7^{2} \\EH^{2}=98\\EH=\sqrt{98}\\EH=7\sqrt{2}

∴ EH≈9.9

2.) Consider triangle CDF

CDF is a right angle triangle as ∠CDF = 90°

CF is the hypotenuse of the triangle.

Applying Pythagorean theorem

CD^{2} + DF^{2} = CF^{2}

substituting values as given in the question:

11^{2} +DF^{2}=(11\sqrt{3} )^{2}\\DF^{2}=(11\sqrt{3} )^{2}-11^{2} \\DF^{2}=242\\DF=\sqrt{242}\\DF=11\sqrt{2}

∴ DF≈15.6

Mary had $25,000 to invest. She invested part of that amount at 3% annual interest and part at 5% annual interest for one year.
emmasim [6.3K]
(25000-f)(.03)+.05f=1100

750-.03f+.05f=1100

750+.02f=1100

.02f=350

f=$17500

So Mary invested $17500 @ 5% and 7500 at 3% to earn $1100 in interest.
