The correct answer is B. Difficult.
Explanation
The British colonies of North America were established at the beginning of the seventeenth century, once there they were about 150 years under British rule until the Independence of the United States in 1776. During all this time the life of the colonists and Creoles was on the east coast of the United States because the Appalachian mountain range to the west made it difficult to expand westward. Many tried to cross, however, on the way they suffered from strange diseases, dehydration, injuries, and adverse weather conditions that made this task almost impossible. In the 18th century after the Louisiana Purchase, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned several expeditions to reach the West Coast to learn about and exercise dominion over the acquired territories. So the correct answer is B.
In the South, the governments resisted giving full ownership of land to freed slaves. Many blacks had to become sharecroppers on the plantations where they had previously been slaves.
For labor, the Radical Republicans attempted to put a land reform through Congress, promising, 40 acres and a mule, to newly-freed blacks in the South, which was rejected by moderate elements as socialistic. This failure left blacks without an economic base and was one of the key contributing factors to the development of sharecropping and segregation pay.

The United States tried to remain neutral during World War I, but numerous things occured that tipped the balance and made the U.S. finally declare war. The first thing was the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915, by Germany. The Lusitania was a ship carrying over 1,000 innocent passengers, with over 100 Americans onboard, a German U-boat sank the ship, ultimately killing everyone. Americans were furious about this, but it was not enough for the United States to declare war and join the Allied powers during World War I. The Zimmerman Telegram was the occurrence that finally made President Woodrow Wilson finally declare war. The Zimmerman Telegram was supposed to be a secret telegram to Mexico from the Germans, however it was decoded and brought to the United States' attention in 1917. This telegram stated if Mexico sided with Germany during World War I, and attacked the states, when Germany won the war they promised they would give Mexico territories. This was a huge threat, as Mexico bordered the United States, and it was the final straw into the United States entering World War I. On April 6, 1917, after the speech of Woodrow Wilson, the United States had officially declared war on Germany and entered World War I as one of the Allied powers.
