Answer:

4000 shares

Explanation:

Given:

Exercisable price per share = $50

Number of shares of common stocks to be obtained = 24,000

Average market price of the common share = $60

Ending market price per share = $60

Total Amount for the shares = Number of shares × Price per share

or

Total Amount for the shares = 24,000 × $50 = $1,200,000

Thus,

number of shares purchased = \frac{\textup{Total amount for share}}{\textup{Average market price per share}}

or

number of shares purchased = \frac{1200000}{60}

or

The number of shares purchased = 20000

Hence,

Increased weighted-average number of shares

= Shares to be obtained - Actual number of shares purchased

or

= 24000 - 20000 = 4000 shares

Consider a competitive market for which the quantities demanded and supplied (per year) at various prices are given as follows:
kipiarov [429]

Answer and Explanation:

A. Price elasticity of demand

Price(P0) = $80 , Q0 = 20

Price(P1) = $100 , Q1 = 18

Price elasticity of demand =

\frac{\frac{Q1-Q0}{\frac{Q1+Q0}{2} } }{\frac{P1-P0}{\frac{P1+P0}{2} } } \\\\\frac{\frac{18-20}{\frac{18+20}{2} } }{\frac{100-80}{\frac{100+80}{2} } }\\\\\frac{\frac{-2}{\frac{38}{2} } }{\frac{20}{\frac{180}{2} } }\\\\\frac{\frac{-2}{19} }{\frac{20}{90} } }\\\\-0.47

Price elasticity of demand = 0.47

B. Price elasticity of supply

Price(P0) = $80 , Q0 = 16

Price(P1) = $100 , Q1 = 18

Price elasticity of supply =

\frac{\frac{Q1-Q0}{\frac{Q1+Q0}{2} } }{\frac{P1-P0}{\frac{P1+P0}{2} } } \\\\\frac{\frac{18-16}{\frac{18+16}{2} } }{\frac{100-80}{\frac{100+80}{2} } }\\\\\frac{\frac{2}{\frac{34}{2} } }{\frac{20}{\frac{180}{2} } }\\\\\frac{\frac{2}{17} }{\frac{20}{90} } }\\\\0.53

Price elasticity of supply = 0.53

C. The point , where Demand and supply is equal called equilibrium price

So , $100 is equilibrium price.

D. if market price is less then equilibrium price , it is effective So, shortage (20-16) 4 units

as a young entrepreneur, how can you show the responsible ways of purchasing activities on any possible situations you may consi
Helen [10]

Answer:

There are several ways in which a young entrepreneur can carry out purchasing activities responsibly, including:

1. Measured production of inventory or units of products- If an entrepreneur is producing bicycles for instance, (s)he should only spend on inventory that (s)he anticipates will be sold to customers or purchased by retailers. For example, let's assume that the entrepreneur has a purchase order from a retailer such as K-Mart for 500 bicycles. In this case the entrepreneur should only produce around 550 bicycles rather than 700 or 1000 bikes, thus, purchasing supplies and producing inventory in accordance with demand for his/ her bicycles.

2. Lowering costs of production where possible- Firstly, this can be done by purchasing supplies and materials for inventory in bulk. Secondly, the entrepreneur could outsource the manufacturing of his/her product to countries (such as China) where production costs are significantly cheaper.
