The major religions currently dominating European culture are Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Though Europe is predominantly Christian, this definition changes depending upon which measurement is used.

How was the mentality of the people in the south in the civil war
butalik [34]

Answer: Complicated plz read

Explanation: So the south had the majority of the slaves during the civil war time. The south wanted to Keep slavery and the north wanted to abolish it. This war was considered one of the bloodiest battles in american history. Slavery was very essential back then becuase all those slaves were working hard with minimum to no pay on the farms. This means that the owners could sell the crops and get the moolah.(its all about the moolah right)? So there was a big gun fight and people died. But the mentality of the south states I guess were angry and fighting to keep the money(simply put). While the north thought that the south were being bullies:)

Hope I helped!

enyata [817]

The Supreme Court said Mr. Reynolds could not break the law while practicing his religion.

Reynolds v. the United States was heard by the Supreme Court in 1878 in regard the Morrill Anti-Bigamy Act placed on the Utah Territory.

Reynolds argued that preventing him to marry more than one woman was a violation of his First Amendment rights to protection of religion. The Supreme Court concluded that he had the right to his belief but he could not go around the law to practice his faith. The law stated marriage was to be between two people only and therefore he could not be married to more than one woman.

Nutka1998 [239]

The Compromise of 1850 included a much harsher fugitive slave law. It also comprised all of the following, with the exception of Kansas, which joined the Union as a slave state.

A new, more stringent Fugitive Slave Law Congress enacted a harsh fugitive slave statute, requiring authorities in all states and territories to help in the recapture of enslaved persons who had fled to freedom or paid a significant fee.

As the political confrontation between abolitionists in the North and slaveowners in the South escalated, Congress approved the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which imposed tougher sanctions for interfering with slaveowners' recovery of runaway slaves.

The legislation jeopardized the safety of all blacks, slave and free, and caused many Northerners to become more outspoken in their support for fugitives.
