How did Manifest Destiny influence the U.S. declaring war Mexico, what did President Polk and most Americans want?
Elden [556K]

Answer/Explanation

The Mexican-American War (1846-1848) marked the first U.S. armed conflict chiefly fought on foreign soil. It pitted a politically divided and militarily unprepared Mexico against the expansionist-minded administration of U.S. President James K. Polk, who believed the United States had a “manifest destiny” to spread across the continent to the Pacific Ocean. A border skirmish along the Rio Grande started off the fighting and was followed by a series of U.S. victories. When the dust cleared, Mexico had lost about one-third of its territory, including nearly all of present-day California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.

State a strong reason about the legislative branch that supports your thesis: Does the check/balance work? How much or little do
SashulF [63]

Answer:

The Constitution nowhere contains an express injunction to preserve the boundaries of the three broad powers it grants, nor does it expressly enjoin maintenance of a system of checks and balances. Yet, it does grant to three separate branches the powers to legislate, to execute, and to adjudicate, and it provides throughout the document the means by which each of the branches could resist the blandishments and incursions of the others. The Framers drew up our basic charter against a background rich in the theorizing of scholars and statesmen regarding the proper ordering in a system of government of conferring sufficient power to govern while withholding the ability to abridge the liberties of the governed.1

What were the differences and Some similarities between the southern Middle and New England colonies?
Mademuasel [1]

Explanation:

The middles colonies had rich farmland and a moderate climate. This made it a more suitable place to grow grain and livestock than New England. The Southern colonies had fertile farmlands which contributed to the rise of cash crops such as rice, tobacco, and indigo.30 Jan 2021
