Thucydides was an ancient Greek whose work laid the foundation for modern history. He was an Athenian historian and was known as the father of scientific history because of the way he gathered evidence, analysed it and presented his results. He did not include the influence of the gods in his research. He is also known as the father or political realism. He studied the behaviour of politicians and the results of  their interactions with each other. Some of his written work is still studied at colleges and universities.
