You could say that      a(n) = 12 - 5n .

Then ...

a(1) = 12 - 5 = 7
a(2) = 12 - 10 = 2
a(3) = 12 - 15 = -3
and so on.
So it seems to work.

7, 2, -3, -8, -13
 -5  -5  -5  -5

a(n) = a₁ + d(n - 1)
a(n) = 7 - 5(n - 1)
a(n) = 7 - 5(n) + 5(1)
a(n) = 7 - 5n + 5
a(n) = -5n + 7 + 5
a(n) = -5n + 12

What is the solution to the system of equations y= -5x + 30 x = 10
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

We have been given the equation:

y=-5x+30

And x=10

Substitute the given x in the given equation we get:

y=-5(10)+30

y=-50+30

On simplification we get:

y=-20

Required solution is:  x= 10 and y=-20

The solution to the system of equation is those points that satisfy the given system of equations.

A circle has a radius if 20 centimeters and a central angle that measures 118 degrees. Find the length of the arc defined by thu
babymother [125]

\textit{arc's length}\\\\ s=\cfrac{\theta \pi r}{180}~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\ \theta =\stackrel{degrees}{angle}\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ r=20\\ \theta =118 \end{cases}\implies \begin{array}{llll} s=\cfrac{(118)\pi (20)}{180}\implies s=\cfrac{118\pi }{9} \\\\\\ s\approx 41.19~cm \end{array}

In one school, half of all students who like math like science as well. Also, in that school, a third of all students who like s
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have 'x' students who like math and 'y' students that like science, we can formulate that:

Half of x likes math and science, and also one third of y likes math and science, so:

(1/2) * x = (1/3) * y

x / y = (1/3) / (1/2)

x / y = (1/3) * 2 = 2/3

So the ratio of the number of students who like math to the number of students who like science is 2/3
