Answer:

The central argument presented in the Declaration of Independence is that the people had a right to choose their own government.

Explanation:

The American colonists that had been sent by the British government in order to occupy the lands from the New World began to opose their rule. They wanted to be free to choose their own representatives, governors and to live by their own rules. After the Revolutionary War (1776), delegates of the Continental Congress (American colonists) were asked to write down the coloninsts' intentions, which would later become the Declaration of Independence (July 4). This marked the beginning of the American Independence from the British Empire, after so many years of living by their rule.

Hello There!

There was one main central argument in the delegation on independence. They wanted a government to protect the people and this was because Britain did not protect the rights of the colonists who lived there. This led them to think that a new government has got to be formed.

What is the central idea of putting good deeds in headlines may not be so good
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

Reporting on good deeds may change society’s expectations about performing them.

Explanation:

"Putting Good Deeds in Headlines May Not Be So Good" is an article written by Tovia Smith. In his report, Smith says that when good deeds are publicized, one dimishes the value of being good or doing good deeds. While interviewing an expert, the expert said to Smith that when the good deeds, which should be an ordinary norm, is portrayed as extraordinary, it brings moral inflation. Performing good deeds should not be made an extraordinary thing as it poses the danger of creating expectations of not doing good.

People should perform good deeds as a normal standard, as a human being, and not to get a celebrity treatment.

Thus, the central idea of the article is that reporting about good deeds pose the threat of changing society's view on performing them as well.
