1. How did whites limit the power of blacks in the south?
Butoxors [25]

Explanation:

1. In the South, "whites" limited the power of blacks in the South by them from voting, serving on juries, or to even travel or work freely.

2. An example of such unfair/unethical action is how many states used the "grandfather clause " to limit the power of the black voter. They said blacks could not vote unless their grandfather had voted; which was impossible for the majority.

3. In the North even though they enjoyed some freedom compared to other regions they faced this discrimination;

 • they were excluded from public transportation,
 • they were excluded from schools and
 • even in churches, they were excluded.

4. The West Indians faced discrimination here.

A derogatory term of chinese indentured servants whose condition was close to slavery was?
bogdanovich [222]

Coolie was a pejorative word for Chinese indentured laborers, whose living conditions were similar to slavery.

Being a slave, who is unable to leave the duty they are performing for an enslaver and who is treated as the enslaver's property, is both the state and the condition of being an enslaved person. Typically, slavery entails the enslaved individual being forced to labor and having their location or place of residence determined by the enslaver.

Many historical instances of slavery took place as a result of criminal activity, debt, or military loss; other types of slavery were established along demographic lines, such as race. A person may be held in captivity for all of time or for a certain amount of time before being released.

How did the debate of state’s rights lead to civil war
Mazyrski [523]

What Are States' Rights?

The Civil War is believed by most to be caused because of the issue of slavery. Some, however, believe that it was actually about states' rights, or the rights of states to govern themselves outside of the control of the federal government. Whenever states' rights arguments are made, they all eventually come back to slavery. States' rights were simply a convenient political debate to fit the slavery argument into.

The American Civil War was, ultimately, about one thing: slavery. However, other issues found their way into the debate as well. Arguably the most significant of these was the issue of states' rights. The idea of states' rights, at its most basic level, is the idea that the states that make up the United States of America should have individual rights to work as their own independent governments beyond the control of the national government. For example, while most states in the U.S. have a minimum driving age of sixteen years, it is actually up to each individual state to decide. In South Dakota, for instance, the driving age is actually fourteen. This is generally believed to be due to the large farming population that requires the help of young teens on family farms, often requiring that these teens drive trucks or tractors to tend to crops and livestock, but there is no legislative evidence for this belief. In New Jersey, the minimum driving age is seventeen, the highest in the country. There have been efforts in the past decades to impose a national law for the driving similar to the national drinking age in 1985, but these efforts have not been successful as of 2017.
