-4X^4 - 44x^2 + 3600 = 0

divide through by -4:-

x^4 + 11x^2 - 900 = 0

900 = 36 * - 25    and 11 = 36-25  so the factors are

(x^2 + 36)(x^2 - 25)  = 0

x^2 = - 36  giving  x = 6i and -6i

x^2 = 25  giving x = 5 and x = -5

solution set is {-5, 5,  6i, -6i}

Karen works for 85 hours throughout a two-week period. She earns $2,891.25 throughout this period. How much does karen earn for
valentinak56 [21]
$271.11 or $271.12 if you round up. Not sure how this one is complicated. Correct me if I’m wrong... 2.891.25 divided by 85. You then take that number and multiple it by 8. Seems very straight up.

Determine the amount of an investment if $1000 is invested at an interest rate of 7.3% compounded quarterly for 30 years.
almond37 [142]
Well, this is rather lengthy so...

First, you'd do...
1000 * 0.073 = $73.

$73 is for one quarter, so...

A quarter of a year is 1/4 of the year, so you'd need to do... $73 * 4.
= $292.

$292 is for one year.

Now do...

$292 * 30

Clare estimates that her brother is 4 feet tall. When they get measured at the doctor’s office, her brother’s height is 4 feet,
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

Percentage of error by Clare is estimated as 4.1667 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Height measured by Clare = 4 feet

Height measured by Doctor = 4 feet, 2 inches

Percentage error = ?

Percentage error = Difference/ Actual height *100

Percentage error = (2/ (4*12))*100

Percentage error = 4.1667 %

The accurate height is measured by Doctor, as he have more accurate measurement system.
