"Two of the Ten Commandments deal death to slavery. 'Thou shalt not steal,' or, 'Thou shalt not take from another what belongs t

o him.' All a man's powers are God's gift to HIM. Each is a part of himself. All else that belongs to man is acquired by the use of these powers [God-granted rights]. The interest belongs to him, because the principal does; the product is his, because he is the producer. Ownership of anything is ownership of its use. The right to use according to will is itself ownership. The Eighth Commandment presupposes the right of every man to his powers [bodily and mental abilities], and their product. Slavery robs of both." - Rev. Theodore D. Weld, 1837

The correct answer is B) the Abolitionist Movement.

The movement Reverend Weld is writing in support of is the Abolitionist Movement.

Before the US Civil War, many people in the northern states already questioned and demanded the abolition of slavery. The southern States never accepted that claiming because their economies depended so much on slaves working in the big plantations producing crops. So some people started the Abolitionist movements in order to put an end to abolition in the country. During the war, people not only in the US but in Europe also questioned and demanded the end of the Slave Triangle and slavery in the Southern States.

Theodore Dwight Weld was (1803-1895) was a supporter of the Abolitionist movement in the 1830s. In 1839 published the document "Ameican Slavery as it is: Testimony of a Thousand Witnesses."

. Which of the following powers the President has according to the
butalik [34]

Answer:

D)

Explanation:

Congress's power to override the President's veto forms a “balance” between the branches on the lawmaking power. The veto power does not give the President the power to amend or alter the content of legislation—the President only has the ability to accept or reject an entire act passed by Congress.

Gave the president powers over immigrants ; made it a crime to criticize the government in speech or print
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]
I believe the correct answer is Alien and Sedition Acts.
These were the acts which gave the President absolute power over immigrants, who now got to decide what he wanted to do with them legally. The acts also made it illegal to criticize government, which defeated the purpose of free speech.
