Some organelles, such as the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi bodies, have a large and folded structure. What is an advantage of
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

In endoplasmic reticulum, many folds leads to an increase in surface area for ribosomes to attach which allows for protein synthesis to occur at an efficient rate.

mitochondria has two membrane,

It has an inner membrane which is folded inside the other. The fold create cristae, which is the site for a portion of cellular respiration.

The folds also enables a large surface area that makes chemical process to occur in an efficient way.

Which pair of terms most accurately describes life history traits for a stable population of wolves? A. semelparous; r -selected
Lera25 [3.4K]

The correct option is (D) iteroparous; K -selected

Iteroparous organisms are the organisms that reproduce multiple times.

What is Semelparity and Iteroparity?

 • Semelparity and iteroparity are the two different reproductive strategies available to living beings.
 • Iteroparous species have multiple reproductive cycles throughout their lifetimes, while semelparous species have just one reproductive cycle before they die.
 • Death that occurs after reproduction is part of a bigger strategy in really semelparous animals that also entails maximizing reproduction at the expense of future survival.
 • There will always be some iteroparous individuals who die between their first and second reproductive episodes, but unless they exhibit symptoms of a state of programmed death after reproduction, they are not termed semelparous.

assess the similarities and differences between the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system
Effectus [21]

Similarities and differences are explained below

Explanation:

Differences:

somatic nervous system:

 • It is part of the peripheral nervous system associated with the voluntary control of body movements through the skeletal muscles and mediation of involuntary reflex arcs.
 • It has sensory and motor pathways.
 • It controls muscles and movement.
 • System responses are based on skeletal muscle contraction.

Autonomic nervous system:

 • The autonomic nervous system is subdivided into the sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system
 • It possesses only motor pathways.
 • It controls glands and internal organs.
 • This system works automatically, without a person's conscious effort.

Similarities between the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system:

Both have motor pathways

Both the system use nerve impulse

Both the system Weaken Myocytes

Both the system use glucose as an energy source for the muscles that they control

Both the system are controlled by the CNS

Both possess neurons
