Answer:

7 \frac{7}{8}\ oz

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The original recipe has

2 1/2 pounds turkey -----> 2\frac{1}{2}\ lb=\frac{5}{2}\ lb

Cherries, equal to 1⁄4 of the amount of turkey

so

Cherries=(\frac{1}{4})\frac{5}{2}=\frac{5}{8}\ lb

Chocolate drops, equal to 0.35 of the amount of cherries

so

Chocolate\ drops=0.35(\frac{5}{8})=0.21875\ lb

Remember that

1\ lb=16\ oz

Convert to ounces

0.21875\ lb=0.21875(16)=3.5\ oz

225\%=225/100=2.25

Multiply the ounces of Chocolate drops of the original recipe by 2.25

2.25(3.5)=7.875\ oz

Convert to mixed number

7.875\ oz=7+0.875=7+\frac{875}{1,000}=7 \frac{7}{8}\ oz

Rounding is simple:

  • If the previous digit is 5-9, round the number to the left of it up a number. If it is 4-0, leave the number to the left of it as it is.

For 82.98, we can round 82 to 83, since 82 is the whole number and the previous digit is 9 (so we round up).

For 169.645, we scratch off 45. Since 6 is in the tenth's place and the previous digit of it is 4, we leave it at 169.64.
