The Albany Plan of Union, developed by Benjamin Franklin, was an important part of colonial America. At this time, America was involved in the French and Indian War. Before this war, the colonists never unified under one coordinated colonial army. However, Ben Franklin, thought that this would be extremely beneficial as there would be the development of a common culture  and goal that could benefit all 13 colonies.
