Help!!! I am trying to help my daughter with this, and I am totally lost, please show the work along with the answers. It is a lesson on Subtracting Fractions. It is asking to to find the equivalent fractions, complete the model, then subtract.

You minus the top and then you do the bottom

2. $\frac{8}{10}-\frac{1}{5}$     Make the denominators the same in order to subtract them (bottom of the fraction)

$\frac{8}{10}-\frac{2}{10}$

$\frac{6}{10}$   Simplify

$\frac{3}{5}$

3. $\frac{7}{12}-\frac{1}{4}$      Make the denominators the same

$\frac{7}{12}-\frac{3}{12}$

$\frac{4}{12}$    Simplify

$\frac{1}{3}$

4. "Difference" is subtraction, so:

$\frac{7}{8}-\frac{1}{4}$

$\frac{7}{8}-\frac{2}{8}$

$\frac{5}{8}$

5. $\frac{7}{12} -\frac{1}{3}$

$\frac{7}{12}-\frac{4}{12}=\frac{3}{12}=\frac{1}{4}$
