Explanation:

In Turkey and Syria, the Kurds are a minority population. Kurds helped greatly in the war against ISIS and in many conflicts in that region to combat and protect themselves and others from terrorism. But in Turkey, for instance, the words "Kurds", "Kurdistan", and "Kurdish" were officially banned and if you were caught speaking or singing it the Kurdish language you would be arrested. Turkey also displaced the Kurds by destroying many villages between 1980 and 1990 and are still treated very poorly to this day.
