I found the painting of Mona Lisa on the internet. It was the portrait of a woman smiling. It is a very famous painting and more pretty than other on-line art. Technology allows me to see the painting without flying to Paris where the painting is.

Ansel Adams' photos of the National Parks are available to view online. I find them very pretty portraits of nature's beauty. Adams' works are not flashy like other modern artists but at his times, they were breaks from traditions which were far more conservative.  Other photographers used color films which were available but Adams stayed with black and white.


Without the internet, I would only be able to see a limited number of his works on exhibits in the museum here.

Drawing from life is wonderful because you get to fully experience your subject. Compare the difference between drawing from a photograph of a person and drawing that person in real life. If you draw from direct observation, you would get to talk to the person, hear their voice, and learn about their personality.
