Rudy wants to teach a hip-hop dance workshop.That cost of renting a dance studio is $109.50 plus$15 per person attending the wor
alisha [4.7K]

We are given fix cost of renting a dance studio = $109.50 and

Variable cost per person attending the workshop = $15.

Let us assume there x number of people attain the workshop.

We can setup a linear equation as :

Total cost = Fix cost + Per person cost * Total number of people attain the workshop.

We are given maximum amount can be spend = $318.

Therefore,

318 = 109.50 +15x.

Subtracting 109.50 from both sides, we get

318-109.50 = 109.50-109.50 +15x

208.50 = 15x.

Dividing both sides by 15, we get

x= 13.9.

It's less than 14.

Therefore, 13 is the greatest number of people Rudy can allow to attend the workshop.
