In Duckworth v. Eagan, the Supreme Court held the position that the police are not required to give you an exact recounting of your Miranda Rights when you are arrested, so long as what they do say to you still confers to you all the rights you have. Use the information from the lesson and the reading from the assignment to answer the question: How has the issue of race shaped
ollegr [7]

The issue of race in South Africa is an ongoing societal conflict. This conflict seemingly began in the colonial-era when the South African region attracted European attention with its minerals, riches, and resources. This led to areas being governed by both the British and Dutch, who even after the abolishment of slavery in the area, continued to bring in slaves. During the apartheid era, white majority rule was maintained and promoted the separation of whites and people of color (Africans, Indians, and Asians) who were sometimes former slaves. Post-apartheid (apartheid=segregation by race) South Africa’s history still feels the effects of these past issues with the continuing violence, racism, and hate crimes between whites and people of color in the area.

One of the earliest “hot spots” in the Cold War was in the European city of what
Damm [24]

Answer:

One of the earliest “hot spots” in the Cold War was in the European city of Berlin, Germany. This was due to the Berlin blockade by the Soviet Union in 1948.

Explanation:

The Berlin blockade went from June 23, 1948 to May 12, 1949, during which the western sectors of Berlin were supplied from the air by the Berlin Airlift.

On June 20, 1948, the Western Allies - after unsuccessful consultations with the Soviet Union - carried out a monetary reform in the western occupation zones of Germany (which, according to the original plans, was not to apply to Berlin due to its quadruple status). On 23 June, monetary reform was also carried out in the Soviet occupation zone, and the new eastern mark was to apply to the western sectors of Berlin as well: to achieve the financial and economic tying of the western sectors to the Soviet zone. The Western Allies therefore introduced the Western Mark in their Berlin sectors as well.

On the night of June 23 to 24, the Soviet command in Berlin responded by cutting off electricity supplies to the western sectors and, a few hours later, closing all land and water access roads. Initially, the Allies were not even united in their future policy towards Berlin. Eventually, the American military governor of the city, Lucius D. Clay, gave the order to establish an air bridge (air corridors were not blocked).

Almost a year later, when it was clear that the blockade would not achieve its original purpose of annexing the Western sector to Eastern Germany, the transit connection to Berlin was reopened on May 12, 1949, and traffic began to move back to the roads. The air bridge was officially closed on September 30 of the same year.

What was the naacp's views on american society
Delicious77 [7]
He NAACP opposed racist views that terrorized and segregated people of color. They were an intellectual group that help to bring about fairer education (Brown vs. Board of Education, 1957) kinder housing and anti-lynching, They felt all humans should be treated with justice, kindness and equality and lobbied to foster positive change in America. (Thank goodness they brought awareness to so much cruelty and injustice. It still makes me cringe to think the U.S. was and still is so uninformed about human issues.)

Which is an accurate statement about the English Civil War?
garri49 [273]

The accurate statement about the English civil war is that “some English people supported the king, while others supported the Puritans in Parliament”.

Explanation:

English civil war is a governmental plottings between the Parliamentarians and royalists. This war took place from the period of year 1642 to 1651 as three separate wars. In that, first one took place from 1642 to the year 1646 and the second the period between 1648-1649 followed by the third between 1649-1651.

During this war some supported the Royalist and stood by the side of the king because they refused to accept Puritans demands for radical reforms and they also hated their influence in the parliament and hence some supported the king and some supported puritans. The war ended bringing victory to the Parliamentarian.
