If you mistyped the question and you meant y=1/4x to the power of 0.5X then yes it's a function, but if you didint mistyped it then no because it cannot be graphed

Answer:

Subject to conditions (see below), yes.

Step-by-step explanation:

The simplest power function looks like y = x^n, where n is the exponent.  We often see power functions; they are integral parts of polynomial functions (such as y = x^3 + 3x^2 + x + 1).

IF you meant, "Is y = (1/4)x^0.05 a power function?"   then the answer is "yes."  It's important that you use parentheses around that fraction 1/4 for clarity.

y = (1/4)x^0.05 has a graph that is initially quite close to the horizontal line y = 1/4.

A poll of 1500 registered voters is taken. Of these, 600 say they will vote for candidate Smith.
Kryger [21]

The point estimate for the proportion of the population who will vote for this candidate assuming the poll is based on a random sample is 0.4.

<h3>How to calculate the point estimate?</h3>

It should be noted that point estimate is simply used to calculate a single value of a parameter.

From the information given, the poll of 1500 registered voters is taken and of these, 600 say they will vote for candidate Smith.

Therefore, the point estimate for the proportion of the population who will vote for this candidate assuming the poll is based on a random sample will be:

= 600/1500

= 0.4

If my friend and i went to get ice cream, I have $30 and each ice cream is $5. What equation would help me solve this? I need an
Anna35 [415]
<h3>Hello there!</h3>

Your question asks to make an equation with the information that was given.

<h3>Answer: y = -5x + 30</h3>

In order to make an equation for your question. We would be making an equation with the formula: y = mx + b.

Formula: y = mx + b

m = change

x = amount of ice cream

b = starting value

We would need to gather the key information from the question.

Key information:

You have $30

Each ice cream cost $5

With the information above, we can make an equation for the question.

What we know is that you started with $30, so that means that 30 would be your b value (starting value).

Your equation should look like this:

y = mx + 30

Now, we know that each ice cream cost $5, but since we're paying for the ice cream, we would subtract that from our starting value. This means that our change would be -5, since we are taking away $5 each time we buy ice cream.

Your equation should look like this:

y = -5x + 30

The equation above would be the equation for your question.

We would do nothing to x but just leave it as is, since we don't know how many ice creams you're going to buy.

y = -5x + 30 should be your FINAL answer.

<h3>I hope this helps!</h3><h3>Best regards, MasterInvestor</h3>
