Answer:

Homozygous.

Explanation:

A cell is said to be homozygote for a particular gene when  similar  allele of the gene are found on the same loci of both homologous chromosomes  in the cell.

if  two copies of a gene that codes for a particular trait  is present in an individual, such that each time the copies of gene are fully expressed despite the presence of any other allele of the same gene, the expressed gene is said to be h<u>omozygote -dominant for that character,</u> or trait.

Such dominant allele is usually represented in genetic diagram by upper case letter. Assuming the trait is <u> white color</u> the gene is represented with W., while  the Genotype   combination is  represented as WW. since the two genes are present on  both homologous chromosomes.

T<em>herefore, if each time the homozygous dominant gene is crossed with another allele  for  the same traits, and the dominant allele  always express from generation to generation, then the  homozygous dominant  allele is said to always</em><em> breed-true.</em>

The homozygous gene that can not express itself  in the presence of dominant gene, but only does so  in  its absence , that is only when in presence of similar allele is said to be Homozygous- recessive for that gene.  The gene is usually represented by  Lower case, e.g w and  the genotypic  combinations by double lower case  ww.

Question was't arranged i have arranged it in  ask for detail section.

Answer:

Option e. homozygous is the correct answer.

Explanation:

A gene which has two identical alleles on homologous chromosomes is called homozygous. It is denoted by XX (capital letters)  for dominant character (alleles) and  xx (lowercase letters) for recessive character (alleles).

Match the current applications to the appropriate branch of genetics. Not all applications will be placed.
Kay [80]

Answer:

a. Hereditary genetics = 1 and 2

b. Population genetics = 3

c. Molecular genetics = 4 and 5

Explanation:

Genetics is a discipline that studies the transmission of heritable traits from parents to offspring. Population genetics is a discipline that analyzes genetic and allele frequencies in natural populations, as well as their changes in evolutionary processes. Finally, molecular genetics is a research field that studies the structure of the DNA molecule, its replication and the development of genetic engineering technologies associated with the manipulation of genetic information.

How many nucleotides are needed to code for two amino acids?
den301095 [7]
3 nucleotides code for a single amino acid. This group of 3 is known as a codon. If you are coding for two amino acids, you would need two codons, 3 nucleotides each, for a total of 6 nucleotides.

Which of the following is true about scientific theories?
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

Explanation:

It certainly isn't the last one. A theory is close to a guess. It fits all the known facts, but there is usually something missing. If someone figures out what is missing, usually by experiment, then the theory become a fact.

The rest of them (1 2 an 3) can all be true. 3 is the least viable. You have to be able to come up with a counter example to reject a theory.

I'm not sure about 2. New phenomena can still be part of current theories. Reluctantly, I wouldn't choose 2 because

1 is the best answer of a very poor lot. Do not be surprised if you use it, that it turns out to be wrong.
