Answer:

arc XY = 32°

Step-by-step explanation:

To find : measure of arc XY

             ∠Z = 39°

Solution :

We will use outside angles theorem

The Outside Angles Theorem: The measure of an angle formed by two secants, two tangents, or a secant and a tangent from a point outside the circle is half the difference of the measures of the intercepted arcs.

In the given figure the intercepted arcs are arc VW and arc XY

Major arc = arc VW = 110°

Minor arc = arc XY

Using theorem ,

\angle Z = \frac{1}{2}(\widehat{VW}-\widehat{XY})

39^{\circ} = \frac{1}{2}(110^{\circ}-\widehat{XY})

39\times 2=(110^{\circ}-\widehat{XY})

78 =(110^{\circ}-\widehat{XY})

(110-78)^{\circ} = \widehat{XY}

32^{\circ} = \widehat{XY}

Hence the measure of arc XY = 32°

Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

672\pi \text{ cm}^3.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a sphere has a radius of 8 centimeters. A second sphere has a radius of 2 centimeters. We are asked to find the difference of the volumes of the spheres.

We will use volume formula of sphere to solve our given problem.

\text{Volume of sphere}=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3, where r is radius of sphere.

The difference of volumes would be volume of larger sphere minus volume of smaller sphere.

\text{Difference of volumes}=\frac{4}{3}\pi(\text{8 cm})^3-\frac{4}{3}\pi(\text{2 cm})^3

\text{Difference of volumes}=\frac{4}{3}\pi(512)\text{ cm}^3-\frac{4}{3}\pi(8)\text{ cm}^3

\text{Difference of volumes}=\frac{4}{3}\pi(512-8)\text{ cm}^3

\text{Difference of volumes}=4\pi(168)\text{ cm}^3

\text{Difference of volumes}=672\pi\text{ cm}^3

Therefore, the difference between volumes of the spheres is 672\pi \text{ cm}^3.

2x +5 > -1 on the number line
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

Below

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 5 > -1

Treat the equality sign (ex. < >) as the costumary equal sign (=).

2x + 5 + (-5) > -1 + (-5)  ---- -5 will cancel out the 5 on the left

2x/2 > -6/2  ------ divide by 2 to single out the x

x > -3

Remember to draw an open dot. Draw an arrow from -3 to the extreme right.
