Answer:

Pulmonary arterioles constrict and system arterioles dilate when PO₂ is low.

Explanation:

Oxygen partial pressure (PO₂) is a blood perfusion parameter that indicates the O₂ concentration in the blood, related to the O₂ available in the lung alveolus or in the body tissues, at a given time.

Since gas exchange depends on the amount of O₂ and CO₂ -which determines both PO₂ and PCO₂- blood circulation and lung ventilation, a decrease or increase in PO₂ will result in significant vascular changes to ensure O₂ flow in the body.

 • When the PO₂ in the alveolus decreases, the pulmonary arterioles contract, to redirect the blood to other better ventilated alveoli.
 • In the tissues, a decrease in tissue PO₂ causes arterioles dilatation, which should promote the arrival of O₂ in that tissue.

These adaptations make it possible to increase the bioavailability of O₂

and thus increase the PO₂.

if a population's per capita growth rate is 0.02 and its population is 100000000 how large will the population be in 5 years
icang [17]
After 1 year: 100,000,000 x 1.02 = 102,000,000
after 2 years: 102,000,000 x 1.02 = 104,040,000
after 3 years: 104,040,000 x 1.02 = 106,120,800
after 4 years: 106,120,800 x 1.02 = 108,243,216
and after 5 years: 108,243,216 x 1.02 = 110,408,080

If you have a generation time of 20 minutes, if you started with 5 cells, how many cells would you have in 200 minutes, assuming
Allisa [31]
First calculate the number of generations. If each generation takes 20 minutes, there are 10 generations in 200 minutes.
The formula for calculating the population of cells is:

N = A X 2^n
where N is the number of cells, A is the starting number and n is the number of generations
Therefore N = 5 X 2^10

= 5,120
