Both the readings reflect the fact that slavery is  and criminal in nature and its a sinful act to slave an individual  ,the reading also indicate that they don t support such practice. Both the readings shows individuals dealing with the hardship of slavery and both the reading also display their protest against the Fugitive Slave Act.
